MEET RICH MELTON: Founder & director
Hi, I’m Rich. I set up Moon Carrot Media here in South Devon after spending the last twenty years working as a producer and director across broadcast television, international sport, high-end branded content, and social-first campaigns.
It’s fair to say the job has taken me a hell of a long way from Kingsbridge. Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to work in more than sixty countries, covering major global events like the Olympics, the Paralympics, Rugby World Cups, and Copa América. I’ve also spent multiple seasons living out of a suitcase at World Superbike Championship circuits across Italy, Portugal, France, and Spain, directing for the likes of Eurosport, Discovery+, and TNT Sports.
Closer to home (and usually in slightly worse weather), I’ve show-produced the Autumn Nations Series weekly rugby programme for TNT Sports, and series-produced The Breakdown, tracking down stories across every single club in the Gallagher Premiership.
Away from the muddy pitch-sides, things have occasionally got a bit flashier. I’ve shot and directed award-winning brand films for global giants like Saudi Aramco, DHL, BP, MasterCard, and Diageo, as well as directing social campaigns for a real mix of sectors—including Ninja, Seedlip, HM Coastguard, and Heineken.
But whether I’m managing a massive crew on the other side of the world or filming a brand piece for my local mates at Salcombe Brewery, one simple truth stays exactly the same: the story comes first.
Everything else—the tech, the platform, the budget—has to follow that. If you haven't got a tale worth telling, the fanciest kit in the world won't save you.
Today, I’m settled in beautiful South Devon, collaborating with brilliant businesses and agencies across Exeter, Plymouth, and the wider South West—while still keeping a bag packed for national and international gigs when duty calls.
If you've got a project in mind, let’s grab a proper cuppa (or a pint) and figure out how to tell your story. Simply.
